Primary Care Physicians are needed to care for our Veterans - Great Benefits! The Atlanta, GA VA Medical Center is searching for a BE/BC Family Practice/Internal Medicine Physician to join their dynamic healthcare team. The openings are located at their Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC) in Rome, GA. They also have openings in Cobb County (Atlanta), GA and Carrollton, GA. The Primary Care physician works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, collaborating with other members of the team to provide medical care to veterans enrolled on the team. The physician is expected to demonstrate advanced competencies and skills in assessing the physical and psychological status of patients. He/ she will provide comprehensive patient assessment, health history, physical examination, and patient education to veterans in the Primary Care team setting. As a physician, you will provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to ill and injured veterans. Duties include documenting observations, assessments, and changes in a patient's condition; collaborating with other health team members to facilitate positive patient care outcomes; providing a full range of care to patients with a variety of physical and/or behavior problems; and being accountable for meeting and maintaining the qualification standards and functional statements of assigned grade. Our facility is seeking individuals who possess good organizational skills which enable completion of work, a demonstrated ability to assume leadership in a patient-centered program, and the ability to establish effective communication with patients, families, visitors and members of the interdisciplinary team. medical care via a patient-centered medical home model. Physicians will be assigned a patient panel of patients. Work Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm Salary Range : $240,000 - $270,000 per year A recruitment/relocation incentive may be authorized for a highly qualified candidate. Selected candidates may be eligible to apply for student loan repayment through the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP). Participation is based on funds availability. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Citizenship : Citizen of the United States: (Noncitizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens) Licensure: Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the U.S. or in the District of Columbia Education: Must have a degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
