OVERVIEW: The Information Security Analyst is responsible for identifying threats and vulnerabilities in systems and software, then apply the skills to develop and implement solutions to defend against hacking, malware and ransomware, insider threats and all types of cybercrime. This critical role ensures Municipal Credit Union data, employees, and member data are protected from unauthorized access and disclosure. Will also participate in planning and executing Information Technology (IT) security strategy including vulnerability management, security policy development and awareness training development. Responsibilities : Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Conduct regular security assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities. Monitor monitoring alerts for unusual activities and potential security breaches. Develop and implement security protocols to protect sensitive data. Investigate security incidents and provide incident response support. Stay up-to-date on the latest cybersecurity trends and threats. Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security measures are integrated into all systems. Create reports detailing security findings and recommendations for improvement. Participate in preparing information technology risk assessments. Test security controls and evaluate security posture of organizational internal controls. Identify, define and document system security requirements and recommend solutions to management. Assist in responding to all system and/or network security breaches. Ensuring that the organization's data and infrastructure are protected by enforcing the appropriate security controls. Participate in the change management process. Maintain confidentially on all sensitive security matters. Daily administrative task, reporting, and communication with the relevant departments in the organization. Interact with business units in relation to varying business and technical plans. Ensure information security issues are responded during initial stage of project life cycle. Perform as security technical advisor to analyst for company initiatives to analyze new technologies for program conformance. Perform root cause analysis of incidents realized by the organization. Develop and recommend courses of action to mitigate the threat posed to the business and find the best way to secure the IT infrastructure. Perform other related duties as requested and special projects as assigned. Requirements : Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer information systems. Minimum four years of relevant work experience. Foundational cyber security knowledge in at least one area (e.g. architecture, attacker methodologies, digital forensics, incident response). Experience with core enterprise infrastructure and security-supported technologies including data protection elements such as DLP, tokenization, encryption, endpoint security, and perimeter protection such as firewalls or WAF, IPS/IDS and SIEM. Ethical hacking capabilities like simulation and penetration testing. Cloud experience (Azure, Google, AWS). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize projects. Availability to work overtime and on weekends as required. Highly ethical, with an eagerness to learn. Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CCSP or CISM preferred. Ability to perform in a high-volume environment and meet deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
