Description OPEN UNTIL FILLED JOB SUMMARY: The Counselor II/III will provide clinical assessment of individuals' symptoms and needs, both initially and ongoing. Counselor will provide individual, group, family, and couples counseling, utilizing evidence based practices/treatment modalities. This position will provide consultation with the individual's care team and make referrals as necessary. Counselor will provide assistance in development of comprehensive, person-centered treatment plans to address each individual's needs. Ongoing review of this plan is provided by counselor. This position will primarily provide services in the mobile clinic unit, traveling throughout the catchment area. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide comprehensive assessment in order to identify and diagnose mental health and substance abuse and/or co-occurring disorders and the overall functional capacity of the individual; to integrate input from collateral contacts; to make referrals, as appropriate. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans; to establish measurable goals and objectives, which are based upon individual's needs identified during assessment. To identify and implement appropriate interventions through treatment modalities such as individual, group, family, or couples therapy. Engage in ongoing evaluation of clinical practice and of services rendered to individuals, through annual re-assessments and treatment plan reviews; to provide outcome measures of progress. Deliver emergency services (prescreening evaluations and crisis intervention) when Emergency Services staff are not available to deliver such services. Comply with all policies and procedures established by MRCS, DBHDS, DMAS, Medicare, and other regulatory bodies; keeps records up-to-date and adhere to confidentiality of consumer information. Actively participate in meetings such as supervision, clinical staffing meetings, business meetings, and committees as assigned; utilize these meetings for active problem solving and to enhance a team approach to decision making. Keep mandatory training up-to-date. Provide consultation and educational services with MRCS and with other agencies or organizations. This counselor will provide services to include the stakeholders involved with the mobile unit. OTHER DUTIES: May provide forensic evaluations or restoration services. Will complete other job related tasks as assigned by supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS: Extensive knowledge of mental disorders and substance abuse Skills in assessment and diagnosis Knowledge of a broad range of treatment modalities for co-occurring disorders and development of treatment plans Oral and written communication skills Where applicable, knowledge of evaluation tools for psychological testing Minimum Requirements EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED: Level 13- Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field; eligibility for Licensure required. Level 14- Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field; eligibility for Licensure required. License required.
