Tax Preparer

Summary: Tax Preparer needed for an accounting firm in Athens, Ohio. Will be entering data from documents and worksheets to prepare individual tax returns. Will be preparing known questions for client follow-up. All work will be reviewed and/or completed by existing staff until employee's abilities have been proven. This is a temporary-to-direct hire position that will be full-time February 1 - April 20, 2025, and then transition into part-time once tax season has come to an end. The schedule has hours available between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and some Saturdays with more hours requested during peak times. Pay is highly competitive and commensurate with qualifications. *This position could be year-round full-time for a candidate that also had some payroll tax preparation experience Requirements: Must have a minimum of two years of tax preparation experience with an existing company, and the ability to provide references associated with those experiences. Training in tax preparation is highly desired. Must have the ability to follow directions and possess strong problem-solving skills. A background in accounting and business or non-profit tax preparation is a large plus.
