Safety Coordinator Department: Warehouse & Home Delivery Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: Richmond Reporting To: Chris Taggart Compensation: $70,000 - $80,000 / year Description Hi there, we're Article. As a Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE) Coordinator, you'll be responsible for supporting the development, adoption, and continual improvement of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) practices at the supported warehouses. You'll help management, warehouse, and driver teams to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. You will also assist in initiatives to enhance safety, increase productivity, and minimize risks to the organization, under the guidance and direction of senior staff. Why Article? About The Team: Your team will consist of the Safety, Compliance and Maintenance Manager and yourself! You will be supporting our network consisting of 8 locations across the US and Canada. Schedule: Monday-Friday (This role is Hybrid and will require you to be in the office 3 days a week minimum. Promote a culture of safety organization-wide. Encourage employee involvement and coordinate with Operations, P&C, and Legal on safety activities. Maintain and update safety policies to comply with regulations and best practices. Ensure consistency in safety protocols across US and Canada locations. Monitor safety regulation compliance and develop training programs with Learning and Development. Support 5S program and safety audits. Facilitate safety training sessions and collaborate with external stakeholders. Establish and coordinate incident reporting and investigation. Support investigations of accidents, near misses, and incidents, and recommend corrective actions. Maintain incident records and support analysis and reporting. Analyze safety data to identify improvement areas. Support accurate reporting of safety metrics for industry comparison and long-term progress. Utilize safety technology and compliance systems for regulatory support and improved outcomes. Assist in managing safety and compliance projects aligned with strategic goals. Support continuous improvement initiatives and training in Lean and 5Why methodologies. Develop and maintain emergency response plans for various scenarios, aligning with operational realities. Perform tasks such as scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and maintaining compliance documentation. Who You Are: A Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification is a plus. Proven experience as a safety manager or in a similar role, preferably in the logistics industry. In-depth knowledge of safety regulations in the US and Canada. Expertise and knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations Proficiency in safety management software and tools. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Working knowledge and hands-on experience with Logistics, Warehousing, and Drivers. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (Preferred) Supply Chain, Logistics, Transport.
