Job Description Work Schedule: This is a full-time, FTE 1.0 position. Monday- Friday, 730pm - 4:00pm. 1 in 5 weekends, hours may vary based on department needs. Pay: External hires may be eligible for up to a $4000.00 sign on bonus. Be part of something remarkable Join our dedicated and knowledgeable laboratorians providing remarkable patient care. We are seeking a Senior Medical Technologist (MT) - Hematology to: Play an essential role in the quality and safety of patient care by providing accurate diagnostic and treatment information. Provide daily direction to other laboratory staff regarding workload, policies, procedures, and recommend adjustments to staffing, policies and procedures. Serve as a consult for test performance and technical problems. Be part of a team of 25 staff who work in Hematology, Urinalysis, Routine and Specialized Coagulation, Bone Marrow Collections/Differentials and Flow Cytometry. Perform routine to high complexity testing as well as advanced troubleshooting and maintenance on various state-of-the-art testing instrumentation. Commit to a culture of teamwork; be willing to participate in continuing education; be engaged in on-going quality improvement. Demonstrate strong decision-making skills, self-motivation to work independently, the willingness to participate in teaching Clinical Laboratory Science students as well as new employees. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology Required or Bachelor's Degree must include minimally 60 semester hours or equivalent, that includes either: 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses OR 24 semester hours - 6 chemistry, 6 biology and 12 chemistry, biology, medical laboratory technology in any combination Required Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) Preferred Master's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (MLS) or related science or healthcare field Preferred Work Experience 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory with emphasis on skills related to work area Required 3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory with emphasis on skills related to work area Preferred Licenses & Certifications Certification (Medical Laboratory Scientist, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Technologist in Blood Bank, Molecular Biology) by the board of American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent Preferred Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion UW Health is committed to being a diverse, equitable, inclusive and anti-racist workplace and is an Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action employer.
