Builders Capital is currently looking for a Closing Attorney to join our Casa Lending team in Cleveland, OH. This role is primarily responsible for ensuring originated loans are properly perfected across all jurisdictions in which we operate. This includes working with our Loan Production Team and various outside counsel and Title companies on closing loans, reviewing title policies, and other legal matters related to origination of loans. This role will be located in our Cleveland office. Builders Capital is headquartered in Puyallup, Washington, with regional sales offices across the country, with its latest expansion to Cleveland, Ohio.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Advises and partners with the loan production team to ensure loans are properly perfected in multiple jurisdictions while providing a first-class experience to clients.Reviews and distributes (may handle preparation) of a wide variety of loan documents that may include complex scenarios requiring manual edits, including: Loan Documents, Mortgages, Deeds of Trust and Signed Documents.May handle the preparation, review, and distribution of the following legal documents such as: Loan Discharge Documents, Assignment Documents, Loan Extensions, UCCs, and other Signed Legal Documents.Conducts title reviews to ensure we have a first lien position on all of our loans.Corresponds with title companies to ensure proper recording and filing of lending instruments, and finalization of title policies.Collaborates closely with the other members of the loan production team to meet pletes the final review of the loan document package for loan closings.Drafts and reviews ad hoc enhancements made to the loan document package when needed and escalate, if required.Coordinates with title companies and on occasion, external counsel to ensures smooth loan closings.Reviews borrowing entity documents and confirm authority for loan execution.Manages high-volume workload with ability to work autonomously.Supports the Company as needed, including other departments on an ad-hoc basis.QUALIFICATIONS:J.D. with 1 to 3 years of experience preferred.Thorough knowledge and experience closing complex real estate transactions in multiple jurisdictions is preferred.Experience with reviewing title policies in connect with residential loan closings preferred.Experience with lender's loan documents and packages preferred.General knowledge of secured transaction and lien priority preferred.Strong oral and written communications skills.Demonstrated ability to execute with a sense of urgency based on operational needs.Technology proficient and adopter of fortable working in a fast-paced environment.BENEFITS:Health insurance - Builders Capital pays 100% of employee Medical insurance premiumsCompetitive wagesPaid time off - 3 weeks a yearPaid holidays - 10 paid holidaysHealth Savings Account (HSA) - Builders Capital puts contributes $750.00 annually pro-rated from date of hired.This job posting highlights the most critical responsibilities and requirements of the job; however, there may be additional duties, responsibilities, and qualifications for this job.Construction Loan Services II LLC (Builders Capital) and its affiliates are Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employers and welcome all qualified applicants.
