CORTLAND COUNTY PERSONNEL/CIVIL SERVICE DEPARTMENT60 Central Avenue Cortland, NY OF JOB VACANCY Job Title: Community Outreach Educator (HELP Program) - No Exam RequiredThis position is responsible for administering countywide child abuse, exploitation, and trafficking public awareness presentations and educational programs in area schools, daycare centers and other public forums. The responsibilities include collaborating with the Board on planning community awareness and fundraising events. The incumbent coordinates and plans community educational programs relative to child abuse, exploitation, and trafficking based on child development levels. This includes developing processes and supports necessary to address potential child victim needs immediately following the administration of the curriculum, after presentations or events. The work is performed under the supervision of the Child Advocacy Center Coordinator or designee. Does related work as required.Work Hours: Full Time, 35 hours per week with benefitsSalary: $23.0509-$29.1765/hr (CSEA Union)Location: Cortland County Child Advocacy CenterStatus: Non-Competitive, ProbationaryBenefits: New York State Retirement System, Low Deductible Health Insurance Plan, Generous Paid Time Off including 13 Paid Holidays, Tuition Assistance available after one year of service, Position is eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either:(a)Possession of a Bachelor's degree or higher; OR(b)Possession of an Associate's degree or higher and two (2) years of work experience providing educational services and/or human services; OR(c)Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and four (4) years of work experience providing educational services and/or human services; OR(d)An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (a), (b) and (c) above.NOTE: Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience may be prorated toward meeting full-time experience requirements.NOTE: Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency.
