What You Will Do: The Clinical Systems Liaison is responsible for major portions of the selection, design, development, and implementation of Clinical Systems. Responsible for the support, training and instruction of the daily activities of clinical systems used at Firelands Health. Works in cooperation with work groups, develops work plans, prepares analyses and coordinates the training and activities of groups of care providers, including physicians, nurses and support staff, with a broad range of diverse backgrounds, motivations and needs. Assists in process-reengineering involved with the implementation of systems that will change patient care delivery and coordinates activities affecting clinical information processing and distribution. Assists and advises clinical and ancillary departments, physicians and affiliated practices on computer changes in hardware and software in an effort to integrate all associated clinical systems. Acts as a liaison between Informatics and Information Technology and clinical team members to provide an understanding of the various clinical system's capabilities as well as opportunities for improvement. Aptitude to develop and maintain working knowledge of Firelands Health IT and IT interoperability issues and opportunities. Active engagement with various leaders and stakeholders, including IT leadership, Clinical Leadership, Medical Staff, etc. in the development and implementation of ongoing support and training of team members, including members of the Medical Staff. Assists with technology changes through all work phases, including needs analysis, vendor selection, implementation and optimization. Development of training, instructional guides and other learning resources to increase all departments use and satisfaction in the EHR. Manages the development and maintenance of documentation to assist with training the end-user. Ability to conduct training in classroom format and one-on-one sessions tailored to the audience. Provides end-user support to team members on software applications specific to the end-user's role. Assists with end-user optimization of workflow and business processes. This includes personalization of software and establishing workflow improvement based on the end-users needs and use of the EHR and/or other applications. Facilitates training/orientation and at-the-elbow support for new and tenured team members. Responds to and monitors service requests, diagnoses, troubleshoots and coordinates resolution of technical problems and information technology issues related to clinical systems. Survey resources including clinical and administrative staff, documented medical record and procedural guidelines and relevant literature. Consolidate findings in summary and detailed analyses containing appropriate data, process and network models. Promotes the acceptance, integration and adoption of software applications that may be specifically related to a job group or employee type. Identifies and coordinates new processes, system functionality, system changes and enhancements to support clinical information and to meet operational needs. Monitors trends based on job classification usage and proactively acts upon actionable information to assist with maximization of technology resources as designed for use. What You Will Need: Three (3) years clinical acute care/ambulatory experience and three (3) years of progressive leadership responsibilities in hospital departments preferred. Current RN licensure in the State of Ohio preferred. Certification in Nursing Informatics preferred. Must be currently certified in CPR (and recertified bi-annually). Minimum of 3 years of EHR experience required; experience with Meditech a plus. Demonstrates ability to implement learned skills and abilities through "on the job" efforts and/or professional certifications. Achieves professional certifications as requested by manager or supervisor in accordance with all Fireland's training policies and procedures. Knowledge of or aptitude for system analysis, project management and design techniques. Ability to use time and project management skills to complete projects and tasks on time and within budget. Maintains accurate documentation of projects through use of department approved forms. Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures normally acquired through the attainment of a Bachelor's degree in a scientific or healthcare field is necessary to understand procedures and information requirements of the departments. Maintain contact with vendors and maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and new systems and equipment. Evaluate and recommend technology and software systems for upgrading or future use. Provide training in various departments to teach users to input data and run clinical systems used in their particular area. Communicate with users to determine requirements and priorities. Successful completion of a one hundred eighty (180) day probationary period.
