Your Role at Baxter Acts as Product Design Owner (PDO) and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for disposable medical devices. The primary objective of this role is to ensure the safety of the product throughout its lifecycle by identifying potential risks and proactively addressing them through well-defined mitigation measures. Support on-market products interfacing heavily with manufacturing and focusing and customer support. Apply a solid understanding of theories/practices utilized by other disciplines outside the primary area of expertise toward the development of new or enhanced products or processes. Plan, execute and functionally direct important engineering assignments, which require independent judgment. What you'll be doing Lead cross functional teams through the planning, execution and completion of a large scale program or several small projects with complex features. Lead projects within Baxter's product lifecycle management (PDLM) and change control management (CCM) process, from initiation through closure. Apply state-of-the-art techniques, in the area of expertise for new product development and product improvements. Independently plan, schedule, and lead cross-functional teams in detailed phases of the engineering work in a project. Apply a solid understanding of theories/practices utilized by other disciplines outside the primary area of expertise, towards product development and improvements. Plans, executes and functionally directs important engineering assignments, which require independent judgment. Utilize engineering tools (e.g. DMAIC, FMEA, Design of Experiments, Statistical Analysis, etc). Generate technical documentation in support of project deliverables and requirements. PDO Role: The Product Design Owner (PDO) is responsible for the oversight of ongoing changes to the product, assessing their impact on the final product code, and ensuring necessary actions are taken to maintain product quality and safety for customers. As the PDO plays a crucial role in creating and supporting product designs and upgrading of the product portfolio that align with the ever-evolving needs and preferences of consumers. PRMO Role: The Product Risk Management Owner (PRMO) is responsible for minimizing risks associated with the product by implementing effective mitigation strategies and maintaining comprehensive risk documentation. What you'll bring Demonstrate success in delivering results on several technical projects / challenges. Proven leadership skills and engineering problem solving ability. Completely proficient in relevant process/product development processes. Successful track record of managing wide-ranging activities. Must have experience or advanced training and demonstrate proficiency (e.g. computer-aided design, total quality management, statistical methods, problem analysis and resolution, materials science, design of experiments, software development). Extensive cross-functional team experience, including technical and non-technical work. Ability to organize and present technical and project management overviews without assistance to project teams and decision makers. Bachelor of Engineering or related areas and 8+ years of related experience, or equivalent on the job experience. Baxter is committed to supporting the needs for flexibility in the workplace. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $120,000 to $165,000 plus an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position.
