We have openings in the following offices for a Full - Time Dental Hygienist : Pediatric Dentistry of Valley Stream in Valley Stream, NY Dental Hygienist Qualifications Associates in Dental Hygiene State Dental Hygienist license Pediatric experience strongly preferred Ability to complete documentation promptly and accurately Ability to use sound judgement; possess a calm disposition and the ability to work easily with others Our staff is integral to our dentistry practice. Dental Hygienist Responsibilities: Prepares patients for dental hygiene treatment by welcoming, soothing, seating, and draping patient Completes dental prophylaxis by removing calculus and plaque from all surfaces of the teeth Applies preventative material to teeth: sealants, fluoride Assess oral health conditions, provides oral cancer screenings and head/neck inspections Educate patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions, providing reminders by time of next dental hygiene visit. Counsel patients about good nutrition and its impacts on oral health. Make impressions of patients' teeth for case studies Documents dental hygiene services by recording vital signs and medical/dental histories; charting in patient records Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results Maintains professional and technical knowledge on a regular basis Assist with front office work as needed or requested Complies with all company policies and procedures Dental Hygienist Benefits: Medical insurance Flexible spending accounts (FSAs), a 401(k) plan Paid time off (PTO), Aflac, and more.
