As Principal Engineer, you will be fully integrated with the local branch leadership and sales team members, with a strong focus on solution sales support and account development. This Position... Some examples of the work you might do includes: Acts as the branch liaison to the engineering team (LCS), being fully integrated with the branch Leadership Team and Sales Teams. Actively participates in the branch top customer account plans. Develops and maintains trusted advisor status with customers, which includes developing smart technical solutions with ROI, communicating code compliance and prioritizing critical gaps in capital planning. Develop "Scope Clarification Documents" to define proposed scopes of work to customers, and for internal estimating purposes. Able to build, develop, and lead a local engineering team to meet the technical needs of maturing branch accounts. Participates in local industry functions that are strategically aligned with top works with local A/E talent for potential recruiting opportunities and identifying trusted technical partners for project support. Oversees the production and distribution of design document deliverables for quality, thoroughness, and compliance with codes, standards, and performance criteria. All other duties as assigned. What You Need... Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering (or equivalent). 10-15 years of MEP engineering experience, with 5+ years of leadership experience. Subject matter expert in one or more areas of MEP engineering related to the design, construction, commissioning, operation, and/or maintenance of facilities. Strong grasp of fundamental engineering principles, analysis, calculations, systems, and local building codes and standards. Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with diverse audiences. Willingness to work in the local branch office and make visits to customers and/or facilities for most of the typical work day, four days a week Ability to travel occasionally to attend meetings and conduct site visits/inspections. Preferred Qualifications: Registered professional engineer 15+ years of design/engineering experience. Conduct Standards: Maintains appropriate Company confidentiality at all times. Work Environment: This position operates primarily in an office environment, and routinely utilizes standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, copiers, and printers. Work duties may also necessitate visits to/walk throughs of local job sites, which means intermittent exposure to outside weather and conditions/hazards typically associated with a construction site. Physical Demands: In performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to talk, hear, perform repetitive motion, and possess an appropriate degree of both visual acuity and manual dexterity. This is considered a sedentary position, which means possible exertion up to ten (10) pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
