Job Responsibilities: Provide technical guidance on geotechnical engineering aspects of a wide range of projects in public and private sectors, ensuring conformance with local, state, and federal guidelines. Lead geotechnical design, investigation, and analysis for buildings and infrastructure projects, including residential/commercial buildings, bridges, highways, railways, airports, pipelines, and levees/basins. Direct and supervise subsurface explorations, laboratory testing, geotechnical data interpretation, and geotechnical instrumentation monitoring programs to ensure a high-quality, timely, and within-budget delivery of the projects. Supervise and lead geotechnical design and analysis for shallow and deep foundations, earthworks recommendations, slope stability and seepage analyses, lateral earth pressure calculations, and other pertinent analyses in support of a wide range of projects in public and private sectors, with an emphasis on large-scale transportation projects. Supervise and lead geotechnical support during construction of geotechnical elements, including shallow foundation, drilled shaft, pile driving, grading, utility trenching, and other earthwork operations. Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and governmental personnel, ensuring that all geotechnical concerns are addressed comprehensively. • Mentor and train junior geotechnical engineers and foster their professional development. Provide support for business development activities by fostering and maintaining long-term client relationships and developing a client base for providing high-level geotechnical engineering services including identifying additional business development opportunities. Play an active role in professional associations and contribute to the state-of-practice and research of geotechnical engineering through technical presentations and publications. Compensation: $150K - $220K Annual Salary The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state's law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. For more information, read through our EEO Policy Requirements Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering; Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred. Minimum 15 years of experience in geotechnical engineering practice with an emphasis on geotechnical design and analysis, geotechnical field investigation, and construction supervision. The successful candidate should be a licensed Professional Engineer and Geotechnical Engineer in the state of California. Local experience and familiarity with the local engineering practice required. Technical Requirements: Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working Extensive geotechnical background including a strong fundamental knowledge of principles of geotechnical engineering, soil and rock mechanics, earthquake engineering, pavement engineering, and groundwater hydrology. Experience in construction oversight for foundation construction and earthwork observation required. Experience with geotechnical software including slope stability packages (Slide, Slope/W), pile modeling tools (L-Pile, Shaft, All Pile), Finite Element Modeling (Plaxis, Midas GTS NX), site response software (Shake, DeepSoil) preferred. Familiarity with Caltrans and AASHTO standards, guidelines, and deliverables is required. Experience in construction oversight for foundation construction and earthwork observation is required. Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale transportation projects and manage teams of geologists and geotechnical engineers. Other miscellaneous qualities: Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record Must be able to pass a background check for clearance to work on US Department of Defense military bases #LI-KK1 #LI-Onsite
