Position Overview: We are looking for a Commissioning Engineer to work in conjunction with our Commissioning Technicians and system engineers troubleshooting to resolution electrical, electronic and software communication issues discovered through our thorough testing procedures on Siemens Light Rail Vehicles in Portland, OR. In this important role you will need to be able to work with various design and system engineers, suppliers, and technicians to understand the design, testing parameters, and functionality of the Light Rail Vehicle on its various components. What you will be doing: Fully test integration of all systems and sub-systems on the vehicles Review engineering design documents and schematics and verify compliance with system requirements, interface specification and technical specifications. Perform system and systems testing according to various railway specifications Review existing procedures and protocols for scope and accuracy Support technicians and engineers by assisting in the testing and help troubleshoot sophisticated issues Perform type tests applying data acquisition devices and various sensors including load cells, accelerometers, current transducers and temperature sensors What you will need to be successful: Engineering degree in either Electrical or Mechanical fields required 5+ years of related experience in Railway industry or related industries Decision making ability and problem-solving skills Ability to understand complex electrical schematics Fluent in English Excellent communication and digital literacy Experience with data acquisition Why Siemens Mobility? # 9 On Forbes Great Places to Work List 11 paid holidays, 18 days PTO 401K - 6% company match Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance Tuition reimbursement Overtime when available Freedom and healthy work-life balance- Health, Dental, Vision Insurance, HSA/FSA, Commuter Benefits - starting Day 1! The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
