Compensation: $44,000 + Comprehensive Benefits, including : Medical (Anthem): Choose from 3 copay/deductible options; base plan starts at $35 per paycheck. Vision (Mutual of Omaha): $60 annual coverage; $130 hardware allowance. Dental (Mutual of Omaha): $500 coverage per year; $1,750 annual benefit. Life Insurance: 1x salary coverage up to $100K, fully paid by CIRI. Voluntary Life Insurance: Additional coverage available for employees and family. Disability Insurance: 60% of earnings, fully paid by CIRI. Identity Theft Protection: Optional coverage, paid by employees. Position Summary: As a Career Development Specialist (CDS) at CIRI, you'll be a pivotal force in helping Ukrainian refugees build successful, self-sufficient lives. Your focus will be on guiding clients enrolled in specialized employment programs as they set and achieve their career development goals. Collaborating closely with case managers, you'll tackle obstacles, streamline employment pathways, and ensure every client has the support they need to thrive. Based in Stamford (3 days) and Bridgeport (2 days), you'll be at the heart of our mission, directly influencing our clients' success stories. Essential Job Functions: Career Planning & Case Management: Partner with clients to create and implement personalized service and career development plans. Collaborate with clients and their primary Case Manager to identify job opportunities tailored to individual skills and goals. Guide clients through the job application and interview processes, empowering them to navigate these steps independently. Train clients on U.S. work culture, ensuring long-term job retention and career growth. This includes fostering essential hard and soft skills, such as work ethic, attitude, and communication. Identify scholarships and tuition reimbursement opportunities to support clients' career advancement. Facilitate English Language Learning (ELL) by removing barriers and developing customized solutions. Coordinate with the Volunteer Coordinator to recruit volunteers for English tutoring, further supporting clients' language skills. Administrative Management: Maintain accurate and timely client data, case notes, and records in both CIRI's online systems and paper files. Understand and meet the requirements of key grant programs, contributing to the preparation of statistical reports for specific grants and programs. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Social Work, Teaching, Anthropology, Psychology, International Studies, Public Health). At least 2 years of experience in a client-facing employment position, or 1 year of experience working with vulnerable and/or underserved populations. Ability to provide in-person services in the Stamford/Norwalk area. Strong organizational, communication, and prioritization skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate with staff and service providers. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience working with client databases. Reliable car, valid U.S. driver's license, and valid auto insurance. Flexibility to occasionally provide after-hours services. Fluency in Ukrainian/Russian is preferred.
