Salary: $52.11 - $53.91 Hourly Location : 4800 W 4 Mile Road Grayling, MI Job Type: EDUStaff Remote Employment: Remote Only Job Number: Division: Instruction Opening Date: 09/11/2024 Description Kirtland Community College is accepting applications for a Part-time Sports Management Instructor for online instruction. An Instructor for this position should be able to teach an introductory course in the field of Sports Management. This course provides an overview of the foundational aspects of sport management in the sports, exercise/fitness, and recreation industry. Students learn about the structure and function of sports organizations (legal, ethical, sociocultural, historical, political, and psychological) and gain an understanding of the professional preparation and career opportunities. Duties PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Communicate effectively with students, College personnel, and outside agencies utilizing both interpersonal and technical methodologies. Prepare for and instruct assigned courses through the use of appropriate learning experiences and materials which provide the opportunity to meet overall course objectives and program goals. Support student learning by meeting college requirements in assessing student learning. Establish and maintain a professional environment conducive to student learning. Evaluate student progress through day-to-day evaluation, written examinations, and overall observation. Provide students with feedback on progress on a timely basis. Actively support student success through guidance, advising, and assisting individual students as needed. Participate in professional activities including, but not limited to, curriculum planning, examination development, textbook selection, program evaluation/revision, and other professional planning activities. Participate in Student End of Course Evaluation process. Submission of grades according to College timelines. Attend meetings as specified by contract. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree in Sports Management, Business, or Related Field OR Master's degree with 18 graduate credit hours in Sports Management, Business, or Related Field . Supervision Works under the general supervision of the Dean of Arts and Sciences. Compensation Compensation is based on the number of contact hours associated with the course as listed in the college catalog.
