POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the department Supervisor, the Electroplater is responsible for performing the plating of metallic parts to enhance corrosion protection and/or abrasion resistance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Plans processes and sequence of the operation to complete plating. • Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches or specification to set the voltage and amperage required. • Dips the metallic parts into acid tanks to clean parts. • Dips the metallic parts into finishing tanks and monitors parts. • Performs visual inspection of plated parts as well as inspection tools to ensure uniform plating on all surface areas are completed. • Racks parts before and after plating. • Logs data into computer for completed parts and processes. • Adheres to safety regulations. • Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: • Ability to communicate, read and understand English. • Ability to interpret blueprints and purchase orders. • Ability to follow instructions, specifications and plating procedures. • Knowledge using calipers, micrometers, pin gauges. • Experience of procedures to run acid tanks and equipment set up for plating. • Possess good attention to detail to identify problems with parts. • Comfortable using a computer for data entry. ITAR REQUIREMENT: Due to ITAR regulations, this position requires that the employee must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident). PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Walking/Standing for prolonged periods of time. • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. • Exposed to heat, noise and chemical fumes while in production areas. • Good hand and eye coordination and movement.
