Our client, a $10b AUM hedge fund with offices in NYC & London, is looking for someone to focus on fundamental bottoms-up research to generate commercial trade ideas across the liquid credit universe including IGHG, XO, HY. Reporting to the Liquid Credit PM and joining an existing team of 5, you will identify attractive longshort investment opportunities, synthesize market information, develop and maintain complex financial models, monitor existing positions, engage and maintain external relationships, develop differentiated investment views, and prepare and present investment ideas, reports and real-time analytics. The ideal candidate will have a high degree of familiarity with different credit securities, including bonds and CDS, and has exposure to non-Bank Financials REITs +or Healthcare (*all sectors will be considered*) as well as strong modeling skills and proficiency in Python, Excel & VBA. The role is to be based in the firm's Midtown office and will function on a hybrid schedule (M-Th on-siteremote on Fri). CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:2 to 5 years of experience in credit research on either the buy-side or sell-side with an ideal focus on non-Bank Financials & REITs Highly developed skills in conducting fundamental credit research, including financial modelling and relative value analysisHigh degree of familiarity with different credit securities, including bonds and CDS - will look at a highly qualified EQTY LS analyst from top academics from highly rated fundComfort dealing with uncertainty and ability to express conviction for tradesExpert-level modeling skills to delineate trade outcomes based on market fluctuations and scenariosDesire to take risk and accountability of their decisionsSelf-motivated, team orientated, and highly collaborative but able to work autonomously as needed
