Renaissance Charter School 2 is a new charter high school in Elmhurst, NY. We are professional, agile, innovative and our goal is to identify a passionate and experienced ELA teacher to join our team as a founding 10th Grade Teacher. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching 10th grade English classes and participates in building a meaningful school community. The ideal candidate for this position has a background in education, has exceptional communication skills, and a passion for helping others.Responsibilities:Develop and implement high-quality ELA curriculum for 10th grade studentsPlan and deliver engaging and rigorous lessons that align with Common Core State Standards and school-wide goalsUse data to inform instructional decisions and personalize learning for individual studentsCreate a positive and inclusive classroom culture that supports student learning and growthProvide timely and constructive feedback to students on their progress and performanceCollaborate with other teachers, staff, and parents to support student success and overall school cultureParticipate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay up-to-date on best practicesRequirements:Commitment for onboarding and attending PD last two weeks in August 2024Bachelor's degree in education, English, or related field; Master's degree preferredValid New York State teaching certification in ELA for grades 9-12Relevant years of teaching experience, preferably in an urban settingUnderstanding of Common Core State Standards and evidence-based instructional practicesExperience using data to inform instructional decisions and personalize learning for studentsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and studentsDemonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion and a belief in the potential of all studentsSalary and Benefits:Salary for this position will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
