Bookkeeper with Property Management Experience. We are a stable 40-year-old firm looking for a focused individual responsible for working in our property management department, handling the income and expenses of an extensive portfolio of commercial and residential properties while working with vendors and tenants. We want to maximize asset value, customer satisfaction, and revenue. You will work with our online portal collecting and recording property management income, including rents, late fees, water and sewer bills, etc., recording payables such as real estate taxes, mortgage payments, and vendor payments, and posting information to specially designed property management software (Appfolio). The ideal candidate is a strong, detail-oriented, highly organized team player. If this sounds like work you'll love, we eagerly await your application! You will be accountable for paying and recording all property expenses and working with delinquent tenants to bring them current. You will provide work-class quality customer service to our housing providers and tenants and assist them with daily issues. The position is stable and rewarding and has room for advancement. Responsibilities: • Enter data, maintain records, and produce financial reports through the property management software • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process • Verify that security deposits are collected, disbursed, and recorded in compliance with all laws and regulations • Process accounts receivable and accounts payable promptly • Post Payments monthly • Post Management fees Monthly • Work to address delinquencies • Explain all tenant charges and credits • Review all accounts for accuracy • Review and Pay Water and Utility bills when appropriate • Review and record annual Real Estate Tax Payments Qualifications: • Experience with Appfolio (or similar system) and basic accounting systems • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and flexible • Work experience as a bookkeeper, property manager, management accountant, or similar position • Good time management, problem-solving, and communication skills • Knowledge of Google Workspaces, MS Word, Excel, and property management software is helpful • Ability to handle the pressures of the fast-paced industry • Must be able to communicate well with residents and employees and have good telephone skills Compensation: $45,000 - $52,000 yearly • Enter data, maintain records, and produce financial reports through the property management software • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process • Verify that security deposits are collected, disbursed, and recorded in compliance with all laws and regulations • Process accounts receivable and accounts payable promptly • Post Payments monthly • Post Management fees Monthly • Work to address delinquencies • Explain all tenant charges and credits • Review all accounts for accuracy • Review and Pay Water and Utility bills when appropriate • Review and record annual Real Estate Tax Payments
