Overview: We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Specialist IV to join our team! Advanced technician. Under general supervision, uses electronic applications, standards, and document control processes/procedures to create and modify deliverables. May provide technical guidance to other engineering technicians. Responsible for data integrity within the Geographic Information System (GIS) for wastewater and water systems including various data and field investigations. Provides technical expertise to ensure quality of work. Minimum Salary: $65,400 (Grade 8) Responsibilities: Applies knowledge of standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, applicable codes, and Citizens policies and procedures. Able to review data requirements and accurately determine the correct format and content of the required deliverables. Begins to proactively apply knowledge of the Citizens Quality Program to ensure that deliverables are accurate and compliant. Demonstrates personal accuracy and supports continuous improvement and change management efforts. Broadens the use of applications to continuously evaluate and improve methods, processes and procedures used to accomplish deliverables. Performs GIS data entry and edits for wastewater and water network systems. Perform data investigations, asbuilt research, field network surveys, and GPS activities to validate and improve the integrity of the GIS data for underground assets. Assist in coordinating deliverables with other groups involved on the same project to minimize interference or errors. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: High School Diploma, equivalency Certificate, or sufficient education acceptable by management. 6 years of related experience and/or training or 4 years of Citizens experience. Valid drivers license in the United States, or alternate approved by management. State of Indiana drivers license required within 30 days of first day of employment. Preferred Skills/Qualifications GIS Professional Certification Associate Degree in GIS or a related Engineering Design Technology. Working knowledge in ESRI GIS and AutoCAD softwares. Basic knowledge of engineering standards, systems, document control, departmental guides and Citizens policies and procedures. Intermediate ability to interpret engineering deliverable content as assigned. Basic knowledge of sewer and/or water network systems. Ability to work in office and field environment. Understanding of various infrastructure projects at Citizens. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others as well as work with minimal direct supervision.
