The Tax Accountant assists in the preparation of federal, state, and local tax filings including income, property and sales & use tax. Additionally, this person will perform research as issues arise, and assist in all areas of tax department activity. State Income Tax - assist with preparation of apportionment schedules, return preparation, return software compliance, estimated payments. Property Tax Returns - assist with aircraft reporting, return preparation, and review, allocation schedules, assessment review and payment, reconciliation of property tax liability accounts Sales & Use Tax Returns - preparation and filing of monthly returns and workpaper preparation Federal Income Tax - return and workpaper preparation, including return software compliance, estimated payments Research state and local tax issues, document conclusions. Answer internal questions from ATSG companies regarding various types of tax. Other miscellaneous duties necessary to support the function of the tax department Minimum Qualifications: BA in accounting or relevant field and 2 plus years of experience in corporate tax preparation, preferably at a public accounting firm Experience with corporate tax preparation software and forms. Familiarity with Microsoft Office software and e-mail. Good communication skills both verbal and written Tax Preparation Software - CCH Prosystem FX Research software - BNA and CCH General Ledger Package - SAP Excel proficiency Preferred Skills: Airline tax experience a plus . The candidate should have federal and multi-state income tax experience and sales tax experience.
