Job Title: Installation / Service Technician Reports To: Commercial & Residential Manager Department: Install & Service The basic function of the Installation / Service Technician is to properly install, troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain and repair residential & commercial HVAC equipment as assigned by the Dispatcher and Commercial & Residential Manager(s). The Dispatcher will assist to coordinate scheduling & logistics. Installation / Service Technicians are responsible for maintaining quality work that meets or exceeds company standards and for representing the company in a manner that promotes positive client & coworker relations. Essential duties: • Conduct yourself in an honest, professional manner. • Install, Diagnose, Maintain and Repair equipment properly the first time. • Take direction regarding scheduling from Dispatcher. • Technically assist and support coworkers & technicians. • Execute all work in a Safe Manner in accordance with OSHA Law(s). • Communicate with the Dispatcher on a daily basis summarizing service call/inspection status, parts & material needs, and labor requirements. • Adhere to proper procedures in the use of paperwork (work orders, flat rate pricing, parts order forms, etc...) and electronic devices. • Turn in all paperwork to office at the end of the workday making sure it is filled out completely & accurately in the field. • Complete Parts & Compressor Order Forms prior to departing the call location. • Collect payment for services rendered on ALL RESIDENTIAL calls and Commercial calls as directed by the Dispatcher. All money collected will be turned in to the office at or before the end of each business day. • Recommend / Sell Equipment, Maintenance Agreements, and Accessories when it is requested by the customer or is in the best interest of the customer. • Communicate all MAC Sales opportunities with the Maintenance Agreement Coordinator. • Communicate all replacement sales opportunities with the Residential or Commercial Project Managers. Take digital photos of the equipment and job site locations prior to your departure. • On job installations communicate with the Project Manager on a daily basis summarizing project status, tool, equipment & material needs, and labor requirements. • Follow thru on job problems. • Prior to completing the project the technician identified as the "Foreman" will accurately complete the Project Quality Checklist, Warranty Registration Paperwork and install "CVC" Installation Labels to all equipment. • Keep abreast of all company sales promotions and pricing. • Attend all training classes and training seminars to keep your HVAC knowledge & expertise current. • Be neat and clean at all times and keeping the company truck and equipment the same. • Responsible for having all minimum required stock on truck at all times. • Other tasks as requested by the Dispatcher, Project Managers or Executive Leadership. Qualifications: • Good mechanical ability • EPA Certified -- Universal Preferred • NATE certified or be working towards NATE certification • Ability to represent CVC Mechanical Contractors, Inc. in a professional manner with customers, vendors, staff and the general public • Ability to effectively manage company resources (tools, equipment, materials and labor) • Must have required tools maintained in good working condition • Work well under pressure • Must have valid drivers' license and a good driving record • Ability to handle difficult customer and diagnostic issues as they arise • Adaptability---the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events • Good communicator -- works well with different customers and office personnel personality styles Working Conditions: This position works in the field. Is exposed to driving hazards. Adherence to Safety Policy and Driving Safety Policy is E pected. Physical Demands: The physical demands for this position are heavy. Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. Mental Requirements: Self motivated and able to handle rapidly changing priorities and several tasks simultaneously. Must be able to respond to difficult situations with customers and co-workers with high level of professionalism. Must be able to communicate effectively with vendors and co-workers. Must be able to follow safety guidelines at all times. Must have ability to manage and lead effectively. Internal Relationships: Communicates and interacts with employees on all levels in the office. Sets an example for employees in the company. External Relationships The title will have high level of contact with customers and vendors, and will be required to maintain professional communication and appearance at all times during work hours.
