Title: Adult Discipleship Intern Status: Part-time, for credit, ministry support staff Working Relationships: Accountable to the Elders and Senior Pastor, with direct supervision from the Pastor of Adult Discipleship. Serves in cooperation with the Adult Discipleship Team. Qualifications: Requires current enrollment in college/university studying Bible or Pastoral Studies Exhibits proficiency in using general Microsoft 365 suite of software products (specifically Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook) Has willingness to learn and use Group Vitals small group software Exhibits an ability to be a team-player with other members of the church staff Maintains a high level of integrity, confidentiality and demonstrates a good work ethic Values and Beliefs Must be a professing Christian who affirms the Calvary Church doctrinal basis, vision and values and philosophy of ministry Must regularly attend Calvary Church during the internship Must have a disciple-making heart that desires to help individuals identify and take another step in their spiritual journey. Shows a teachable spirit with a desire to learn and grow professionally and spiritually Duties: Assist with recruitment and equipping of Small Group and ABF Leaders as disciple-makers Assist with development and implementation of new initiatives to facilitate congregant involvement in a small groups and ABFs Exhibits a willingness to initiate and follow up with members of the congregation with phone calls, emails, and face-to-face conversations. Creatively look for and implement solutions that further the goal of helping underinvolved congregants take steps toward greater involvement for their own spiritual health and for furthering the vision of Calvary Church Work Schedule and Time Allotment Work schedule: part-time, flexible related to programs and projects. To be managed and accounted for by the Pastor of Adult Discipleship Serve occasionally on Sunday morning for disciple-making and/or training purposes. (ex. Teaching in an ABF or training leaders of future small groups) Physical and Mental Requirements Light physical work requirements (20-50lbs.) with a majority of time at a desk Creative thinking, conceptual, collaborative, and listening skills. Must be able to present ideas and allow for adoption, adaptation, or elimination of those ideas Environmental Conditions Work indoors at a desk looking at a computer screen and operating a phone, mouse and keyboard. Collaborating in one-on-one meetings with the supervisor Collaborating with other team members within the Adult Discipleship team and with in staff-wide gatherings.
