PURPOSE As a plasma/lithography process engineer, the candidate will be responsible for sustaining, improvement, and development of plasma etch processes assisting our lithography processes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Candidate will be responsible for development, characterization and manufacturing of plasma and lithography processes to manufacture MEMS structures. This includes RIE, sputter, ash, litho using thick resist systems such as SU-8. The candidate will be owner of multiple processes and tools, and responsible that they produce predictably high capacity output. The candidate will lead installation and qualification of new tools for wafer fab expansion. Candidate will develop and implement metrology, process controls, data acquisition and analysis methods for the developed processes. Candidate will be responsible for yield improvement in collaboration with other process module teams. Candidate will define, design and execute experiments to test new processes, materials and structures. Experience with Parylene deposition is a plus. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical engineering, or equivalent discipline. Ph.D. degree is preferred. 2-5+ years of substantial hands-on experience in a HVM wafer fab. Candidate must have experience as process engineer in microfabrication. Equipment and process experience with tools like RIE, sputter, asher, downstream plasma. Experienced in systematic problem solving and debugging of process and tool issues. Strong oral and written communication skills. Expertise in big data mining using data base languages such as SQL. Experience in specification of equipment, vendor evaluation, procurement recommendation and equipment qualification. Experience in statistical process control (SPC) methodologies in a manufacturing environment. The pay range for this role in Livermore, CA is between $136,200 and $178,815. The pay range may differ in other locations. FormFactor maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
