Salary: See Position Description Location : Main Campus - Toms River, NJ Job Type: On-Call Job Number: Division: Student Affairs Department: Enrollment Services Opening Date: 09/06/2024 Closing Date: 9/27/2024 11:59 PM Eastern The Position This position plays a crucial role in the FIPSE Basic Needs Grant by supporting the intake and case management processes for Ocean County College students. The program is designing to assist students facing food insecurity, housing instability, and other basic needs challenges. The intern will work closely with team members to ensure efficient service delivery for students. Classification: Casual/As-Needed Intern Duration: Internship Hourly Rate: -Less than Associates degree/60 credits: $16.00/hr. -Associates degree/60 credits: $17.00/hr. -Bachelor's degree/pursuing graduate degree: $18.00/hr. What You Will Do Supports program staff by assisting with outreach to referred students to complete intake for program services and enrollment. Conducts initial assessment to identify student needs and eligibility for services. Monitors student progress of program members through CRM system including maintenance of accurate records and documentation including appointments, phone calls, and timely follow-up. Provides support to program members to ensure their academic and fiscal progress through collaboration with on- and off-campus resources. Assists in creating information materials and resources to students. Helps organize and participates in workshops, events and outreach activities to promote the FIPSE Basic Needs Program. Develops knowledge of and adheres to College policies and procedures that relate to degree requirements, courses, course selection, scheduling, pre-registration and registration, and college admission. Maintains working knowledge of services offered by College personnel and departments, and assists students in fully utilizing all the resources available to them at the College. Participates in designated training and/or conferences and stays up to date on departmental and institutional training, processes and procedures. Other duties as assigned for the academic development of the intern. The Successful Candidate Must Have Be a currently enrolled student in an undergraduate or graduate program requiring practicum or internship hours. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable learning new systems. Even Better If You Have Bilingual English and Spanish. Familiarity with issues related to student basic needs. Prior Database Experience. Ocean County College offers the following benefits to temporary or on-call as needed employees: Time Off: OCC follows the NJ Sick Leave Law, providing one (1) hour of sick leave per every thirty (30) hours worked.
