Job Type Full-time Description Position Summary: Work collaboratively with leadership to identify, organize and manage the fundraising activities of the organization with a focus on new opportunities to obtain ongoing and increased support from corporations, public and private organizations, faith communities, and individuals. Implement and execute annual fundraising plan to meet fundraising goals including special events, major gifts, planned giving, sponsorships, donor cultivation and grant writing. Supervise assigned staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The following description is a general representation of the key duties and responsibilities of the position. Serve as primary relationship manager for a portfolio of donor prospects to reach or exceed annual fundraising goals, including event sponsorships and annual fund support. Participate in external meetings with current and potential individual and corporate donors. Work with key staff to implement a strategy for educating, cultivating and stewarding donors. Provide support to key staff for meetings with donors. Generate donor communications, newsletters and annual report. Maintain and expand support for programs and services by overseeing execution of grants portfolio including research, prospecting, proposal and report writing and contract support. Collaborate with key staff to research, identify and qualify funding opportunities from corporate, foundation, and government sources. Develop a deep understanding of program content to ensure integrity and quality of fundraising initiatives. Collect and synthesize information about programs as needed to make strongest case for support. Coordinate with key staff to produce and submit compelling high-quality proposals that can obtain significant support for programs. Manage efficient operational system to ensure accurate records and timely communication with funders; oversee grants calendar and donor database management and ensure timely and accurate reporting to external quality control agencies such as GuideStar and Charity Navigator. Attend and participate in staff meetings and assigned subsidiary board meetings, as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Qualifications: Specific knowledge, training or skills required to perform the duties of this position including specific courses, training programs or required certifications. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position. Bachelor's Degree required. Demonstrated ability to meet financial goals for gift solicitation. Knowledge of grants management cycle and proven experience writing proposals to large corporate, foundation and government donors, and an understanding of technical and financial requirements for large grants. Demonstrated superior writing, research, project management and organizational skills. Ability to work independently to successfully execute multiple, simultaneous projects on time with quality results. Interpersonal skills: demonstrated ability to effectively work with internal and external stakeholders. Knowledge of Cleveland philanthropic community and national funding field. Detail-oriented, organized, deadline-driven. High proficiency in all areas of Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Previous experience working in donor database. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Previous Experience that is necessary to qualify for this position: 5-7 years of non-profit fundraising experience in donor management, cultivation and solicitation. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard and telephone. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work. Light to moderate lifting is required, up to 20 pounds. Regular, predictable attendance is required; including quarter-driven hours as business demands dictate. Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic). Ability to work in a confined area. Frequent local and occasional national travel. Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Work environment is stressful at times.
