About the Job:The Aeromechanical team at Pivotal is looking for a Senior Composite Structures Analysis Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team. In this position you will be responsible for leading all structural analysis efforts on all platforms.ResponsibilitiesLead the structural analysis and validation of composite components and assemblies for Pivotal's aircrafts, utilizing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools and other simulation softwareConduct stress, fatigue, and damage tolerance analysis on composite structures, identifying areas for improvement and optimizationCollaborate with design and manufacturing teams to provide guidance on composite material layup, fabrication techniques, and assembly processesInterface with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with relevant aviation standards and certification requirementsMentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and knowledge sharing within the teamDevelop and implement methodologies for composite material selection, characterization, and testing to ensure optimal performance and durabilityQualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field8+ years of hands-on experience in composite stress analysis and design within the aerospace, aviation or automotive industryProficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools (such as Simulia (3DX), Abaqus, Nastran, ANSYS) and other relevant simulation softwareStrong understanding of composite material properties, manufacturing processes, and failure modesExcellent problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering innovative solutions in a fast-paced, collaborative environmentEffective communication skills to convey complex technical concepts and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.Bonus QualificationsExperience with eVTOL or other electric aircraftKnowledge of industry standards and regulations related to composite structures in aerospace (e.g., FAA, EASA).Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related fieldExperience with composite structure designPersonal AttributesPassion for aviation and technologyProven track record of delivering resultsStrong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teamsStrong sense of ownership and accountabilityWillingness to take on challenging projects and push boundariesStrong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
