Compensation : $30 - $30 Hourly Client Job Ref ID : JX Start Date : 07/26/2023 End Date : 09/29/2023 Security Clearance : None Performs advanced vocational nursing work. Provides for the care, treatment, and general welfare of individuals residing psychiatric hospital who have complex medical, mental health, and/or behavioral health issues. Responsibilities: Performs basic and advanced routine and non-routine nursing tasks to promote the health of the individuals within the assigned areas and assigned shifts. Collects specimens for lab work and perform health screenings. Instructs direct support professionals and other staff on how to provide service and care that support the individual's medical needs. Performs technical nursing procedures according to facility and state regulations. Keeps informed of and follows all agency, SSLC, and unit/home policies and procedures. Provides direction and assistance with on-the-job training to others such as newly hired LVNs and direct care staff. Provides on-the-job nursing instruction and training for new LVNs, within their scope of practice, as requested by RN Supervisor. Monitors and oversees the work of LVNs and assigns work to LVNs as needed. Evaluates nursing intervention outcomes and provides input to other members of the healthcare team. Assists RNs with the implementation of protocols, procedures, and programs to improve the overall health and safety of staff and individuals. Works under the limited supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. QUALIFICATIONS BLS and ACLS National Institutes of Health (NIH) Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology. The ability to stand for extended periods. Strong technical skills. Knowledge of medical terminology Passionate about patient care Requires a minimum of two years of current LVN Psychiatry experience. Graduate from a fully accredited LVN program Active unencumbered LVN Texas state license One year of Epic experience Requirements COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster. SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills. Participates in relevant continuing education programs. Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients. Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise. A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital. Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
