Join an award-winning Community based hospital - Trauma II as an Ultrasound Tech NIGHTS Thur-Sat; 9p-7a Performs routine and some special procedure imaging, diagnostic and medical sonograms. Prepares patient for procedures. Assists Radiologists when needed. Prepares, operates and cares for the equipment being used. Develops/processes films when needed. Adheres to established radiology "standards of care". Obtains appropriate continuing education. Assumes responsibility for assigned area and duties. Adheres to hospital wide customer service programs. Performs other duties as assigned such as quality assurance. Exercises professional judgment in performance of procedures. Provides patient care. Understands and adheres to the Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors Performs all other related duties as assigned Prepares and positions patients correctly for specific examinations, observing different and special requirements for each protocol, including proper documentation on images and required body part questionnaires Assumes responsibilities for designated areas and/ or procedures and produces good technical images Assist physicians during procedures as necessary Performs equipment quality assurance and calibrations as needed, orders supplies Will be required to work in case of emergency procedures or when situations arise in the department. Will be needed to work on call, holidays, overtime and / or day, evening and overnight shift coverage to help maintain adequate and safe coverage for the department Maintains the cleanliness of all work areas, equipment and accessories. Reports all malfunctioning equipment to Bio Med and/or supervisor. Processes films, or print pictures if needed Performs routine office duties, such as answering phones, checking previous reports/films, documenting information on patients' request, Meditech or hospital riss system and PAC's digital x-ray system Notifies transport when patients are ready to be picked up or returned to the floor The radiologist shows and calls reports to the attending physician and documents communication if necessary. May be assigned as an instructor or preceptor Will treat all people/staff in a professional and courteous manner, upholding the hospital's behavioral standards. Will introduce him/her and educate the patient and/or family members regarding the examination that is ordered. Should be knowledgeable and skillful in providing care, based on age, physical and psychosocial stature of patient populations; neonate/newborn, pediatric/adolescent, adults and geriatric groups Performs all other related duties as assigned Duties and hours may change according to the needs of the department or hospital. Education& Experience Requirements: High school Diploma/GED required. Satisfactory completion of a certified ultrasound program or Limited Permit/certificate. Experience preferred. Must meet continuing education requirements to maintain certification. ARDMS is required for ACR accreditation compliance after January 1, 2019. BCLS (CPR) certification is required
