Young Scholars Charter School (YSCS) is a free, lottery-based, open-enrollment charter school serving students from across Philadelphia in grades 6-8. The mission of Young Scholars is to provide a personalized middle school education that challenges, engages and prepares all students to passionately pursue their dreams and lead a life of active citizenship. We aim to inspire and equip every student to lead a life of achievement, service and success. Our curriculum engages students in building their academic proficiency and social-emotional skills to be successful. Who are we looking for? We are currently looking for a passionate Part-Time Speech Language Pathologist to join the YSCS team in SY 24-25 and work with us to Imagine New Possibilities in Education. The person in this role will work with students with special communicative needs to develop effective speech and language skills. Through listening comprehension and oral expression, the Speech Language Pathologist will work with these students to achieve their communicative potential. The person in this role will work closely with the administrative team and families to coordinate related services for students based on their individual needs. The Speech Language Pathologist will work in-person from 8:00am - 3:20pm, two school days a week. Responsibilities Conducts screenings and tests on students to identify their speech-language delays and/or impairments and make recommendations on specific services; Develop individual education plans that address specific functional needs for student achievement; Continuously improve based on feedback from school leaders; Collaborate with the administrative team to increase student engagement and achievement; Reward positive student engagement and invest students through the use of school wide systems and meaningful relationship building strategies; Engage with family members regularly; Oversee and monitor ongoing progress monitoring activities to ensure meaningful educational progress is maintained. Educational Background and Work Experience A master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and appropriate licenses; At least 2 years' experience as a Speech Pathologist, preferably in an urban middle school setting.
