Description a.i. solutions is seeking a highly motivated, experienced engineer to provide Flight Dynamics and Operations support for NASA's OSAM-1 mission at the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, MD. OSAM-1 will be the first to robotically refuel a satellite and demonstrate on-orbit assembly technologies. The successful candidate will part of OSAM-1 Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Ground System Development and Operations Team. You will provide support in Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO) preparedness, ground system development and testing, operations planning and readiness assurance, and post-launch operations support. You will have the opportunity to work closely with subject matter experts in the areas of trajectory design, analysis, and mission operations. You will gain experience with concepts and tools that provide mission design, orbit determination and prediction, maneuver planning, attitude determination and predictions and operational planning products. In addition, you will have exposure to the Goddard Enhanced Onboard Navigation System (GEONS) being flown on OSAM-1 to perform relative navigation as it approaches the servicing client. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to propose innovative ideas that improve the team's effectiveness and efficiency. Essential Roles & Responsibilities: Partner with existing team members and become fluent in the tools used to support the mission. Perform system development and testing, analysis, planning, and operations for the OSAM-1 mission. Prepare technical presentations and documentation of your work. Document and communicate your work to peers and customers through informal forums as well as potentially in conference and journal publications. Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related field 15+ years of professional experience Spacecraft rendezvous and proximity operations experience * US Citizenship Desired Background: Previous experience supporting the OSAM-1 mission is highly desired. Experience with C programming language, algorithm development/analysis/testing, GFSC's Freespace simulation environment, and knowledge of flight dynamics concepts and tools. Experience with satellite relative navigation systems, measurements, and processing techniques. Experience using Atlassian Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket or similar productivity/organization tools. Experience with Matlab is highly desired. Ability to quickly connect in-person and in writing, and to actively listen and perceive the needs, values or opinions of others. Demonstrated leadership accomplishments professionally and personally. Proactivity in identifying and addressing challenges to include innovations that result in positive organizational impact.
