Now Hiring: Crisis Intervention Team Supervisor Under the general direction of the Director of Health Systems and Planning, this position serves as supervisor of the Crisis Intervention Team section and is responsible for overall management and supervision of the program and assigned personnel. The role oversees or performs advanced or specialized professional work, which includes expert knowledge and management in a specific field, such as crisis intervention, trauma informed care, social work, including work with justice involved individuals. Responsible for the supervision of all grants/contracts as assigned. The CIT Program provides resources and develops collaborative partnerships with the community, behavioral health care systems, and advocacy groups to improve relationships between the Franklin County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) with the community. This position focuses on providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers in Duties Include: Oversees the CIT Program to ensure a collaborative, coordinated plan of action that includes partnerships between the FCSO, the community, behavioral health and social service agencies, and advocates to provide a transparent process for positive, sustainable change in responding to individuals in crisis. As needed, will respond as part of the public safety team to provide therapeutic psychological assessment, crisis intervention, counseling, de-escalation, and social services linkage. Facilitates communication between FCSO and the behavioral health community; develops a foundation that promotes effective solutions for assisting those in crisis or with behavioral health challenges; improves the crisis intervention training of officers; increases the resources available to FCSO; and reduces the need for individuals in crisis to have further involvement with the criminal justice system while improving the safety of officers and the Franklin County (FC) community. Collaborates with Care Coordination and Behavioral Health and Addiction Services to evaluate, design and implement community outreach that helps prevent homelessness, mental health and substance abuse issues in the community by addressing the social determinants of health, and providing peer support recovery options. Provides clinical oversight and clinical supervision to the Behavioral Health and Addiction Services (BHAS) Peer Support Specialist program and provides guidance and alignment to the BHAS harm reduction mobile outreach program. Provides expert advice and technical assistance and oversees the advice and technical assistance provided by the CIT team to communities and outside partners with respect to CIT activities. Effective advice and assistance require the application of program expertise to complex public health issues, with an understanding of the appropriate cultural/social/political framework, as well as the ethical/legal issues related to crisis intervention protocols and dissemination of information. Builds relationships and awareness of Crisis Intervention with the community and local neighborhoods. Engages in community education and familiarizing self with neighborhoods and cultures in which citizens live, through ongoing relationship and trust-building. Collects and maintains statistical data on crisis incidents handled by FCSO and provides an annual report to make on-going improvements to the FCSO response to crisis incidents. Assists in the development of Division and Section budgets and monitoring expenses against established budget. Responsible for budget planning and tracking and making decisions about budgetary issues, such as training, overtime, employee travel, and employee awards and promotions. Utilizes leadership, team building, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills to manage section and build community partnerships and provides oversight and direction for community education initiatives and programs. Develops and maintains effective working relationships with public health partners and elected officials. Serves as a member of the Franklin County Overdose Fatality Review Committee. Utilizes appropriate methods for interacting effectively and professionally with persons of all ages and from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, and ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, lifestyles and physical abilities. Requirements: Master's degree in social work or other social service program. 3 years' directly related experience including assessing physical, mental, social, and economic needs of diverse populations. 2 years' experience in social work case management. Previous supervisory experience: demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative and work collaboratively; strong evaluation skills, excellent professional written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and active listening skills. Current licensure with the State of Ohio as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW); or Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW); or Marriage & Family Therapist Board as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, or, Licensed Professional Counselor. Ohio Driver's License. Trauma Informed Care certificate preferred. Hiring Salary: $34.52/hour - $41.42/hour for Crisis Intervention Team Supervisor. This is an exempt position.
