Job Description Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget. As a member of the product development division, you will specify, design and implement major changes to existing software architecture. Define project needs. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to ensure consistency, testability and portability across products in general. Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience. Career Level - IC5 Responsibilities Oracle's PeopleSoft Product Strategy Team has an opening for a Principal Product Manager for the PeopleSoft suite of Financials Management modules. The Product Strategist will: Primarily own the PeopleSoft Accounts Payable, General Ledger and eSettlements products. They will have responsibility for gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with Development, QA, Support, Content management teams; ensuring product features align with PeopleSoft's strategic investment themes. Experience and knowledge of the other PeopleSoft Financial modules would be a definite plus for this candidate who could provide additional support when needed for the PeopleSoft Receivables, Billing, eBill Payment, Cash and Treasury modules. Build on and deliver product messaging that sets new features apart from others in the market to give them a unique selling point by creating content such as case studies, video feature overviews, planned features and enhancements content, and blog posts. Confidently speak and present about the PeopleSoft the PeopleSoft suite of Product features to both external and internal audiences. Present product level content at user group conferences. Work with new and growing technologies such as Kibana, Digital Assistant, AI/ML Technology, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and more. Build and maintain relationships with customers and partners within the PeopleSoft community; facilitate engagement in customer advisory boards, partner programs and focus groups. Provide support for Oracle Application and Technical field staff to help provide proper messaging for PeopleSoft applications Skills Needed: Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance, computer science, information systems, or a closely related field 8 + years of work experience with PeopleSoft PeopleTools and PeopleSoft applications. Product Knowledge/Experience: Good understanding of full Financials flow; knowledge of the PeopleSoft Financials modules and how the interact with the other modules in the suite. Technical Aptitude: The product strategist will have to work with the Engineering team, and understand the details of product features, how they are implemented, and how they will be used. Must have the ability to evangelize the value proposition to internal and external audiences. Keeping current on legislative and regulatory changes and guidance from the key accounting bodies - GASB, FASB and IFRS in order to proactively incorporate changes in accounting guidance into the products Collaborative skills: The product manager-strategist will have to collaborate with multiple teams across the business. This will often include the Development and QA teams, product management teams, documentation team, and senior executives. Communication skills: The ability to clearly communicate product expansions as well as complex technologies in a way that is understandable to all types of individuals is critical. The product strategist will engage with technical developers, development managers, executive leadership, and functional users of the applications where the technologies are put to use. The product strategist must be a great communicator that can communicate effectively with all parties they interact with in verbal, written, and presentation formats. Research skills: A crucial part of being a product strategist is gaining insight into customer needs and experiences. The product strategist needs to be skilled at analysis of data, running surveys and conducting customer interviews. Highly skilled in using the Microsoft Office products is a must: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are the most frequently used Office modules. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
