Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must t eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Your talent will be put to a world-class test as you participate in electrical requirements analysis and definition, functional analysis, performance analysis (e.g. timing, power, etc.), design, integration and verification of electrical components, equipment and systems. The Electrical Engineer also plans and leads electrical engineering root cause analysis as well as develops and presents electrical requirements and results to internal management and our customers. What you'll experience: Technologies that aren't just top-notch, they're often top-secret A team of bold thinkers committed to exploring what's next Opportunities to gain new knowledge - as it's discovered What you bring to the table: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience Solid use of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and theories Proven knowledge of electrical engineering processes and design tools Circuit Design expertise Analog design and instrumentation (design and analysis) Power systems / Module design. Experience should include multiple power topology design experience from few watts to KW+ converters. Feedback / Control systems experience Power System architecture and grounding Isolated Switching Converters Transmission Line Effects in power systems EMI test and control methods (MIL-STD-461, FCC / IDE / VDE, etc) Magnetics Design and High Speed Design experience are desirable Strong troubleshooting ability: must be able to diagnose a problem by narrowing the point of failure sequentially through components The use of specialized laboratory equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment for development, testing, and troubleshooting Experience in writing specifications, requirements, and verification procedures for complex electronic systems and components Ability to travel as needed What sets you apart: Creative thinking with the ability to multi-task Keeps abreast of technology trends Effectively handle complex assignments independently or in multiple work groups Ability to sell concepts and ideas to project leaders, program manager and customers Qualifications Preferred: Schematic capture (Mentor Graphics or similar electronic design tools) Embedded firmware (C, C++) FPGA Design - VHDL (Xilinx) Sensor control & management Familiarity with Radio frequency (RF) communications systems Familiarity with Fiber Optic Communications Systems Familiarity with Power supply and high voltage direct current (DC) design, development, qualification, and testing Master's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering Company Overview General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) engineers a diverse portfolio of high technology solutions, products and services that enable customers to successfully execute missions across all domains of operation.
