BILLING ASSOCIATE Job Details Job Location Callen-Lorde Community Health Center - Manhattan - New York, NY Position Type Full Time Education Level High School Salary Range $24.50 - $24.50 Hourly Travel Percentage Negligible Job Shift Day Job Category Health Care Description Callen-Lorde is seeking a highly motivated Billing Associate to join our growing patient accounts team. In this critical role, you will play a vital role in ensuring efficient and accurate billing for our patients, contributing directly to our mission of providing exceptional healthcare. As a Billing Associate, your responsibilities will include: Handle all aspects of the billing cycle, including: Insurance/claims status verifications Answer billing and insurance questions from patients, employees, and insurance companies Ensure that electronic and paper remittances are received from third party payers and patient payments are processed timely. Learn more about our employee benefits Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred, high school diploma required 1+ year of medical billing experience required Strong Internet, PC, and spreadsheet skills Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT4 coding as well as Federal & NY State privacy and billing regulations/laws. Knowledge in 3rdparty medical insurance eligibility and coverage Desired Characteristics, Skills Demonstrated leadership and administrative/organizational skills. Ability to work with diverse populations. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Commitment to the mission of Callen-Lorde Community Health Center.
