The department employs over 850 employees in a typical year. In addition to serving food to the campus community, Dining Services also works in conjunction with departments and various groups in planning their events and ensuring university requirements are met. Partial Year Career Position is for 10 months at 100%. Your Role on the Team Under supervision of F.S. Manager and or Sr. Cook, incumbent performs journeyman level food preparation. This would include: proper food handling, proper knife and equipment handling, proper sanitation and cleaning of equipment. Recording of product usage, plating of food, portion control, cooking, assisting in catering and special events. Knowledge of cooking and food preparation. Required Knowledge of safe food handling guidelines. Required Operating equipment correctly, stocking ability Required Cleaning and sanitizing. Required Skill to communicate clearly to a variety of people. Required: 1-3 Years Experience as a Cook or closely related role. Preferred: 1-3 Years Experience as a cook involving the preparation and cooking of a variety of food in large quantities in the kitchen of a club, restaurant, hospital or other institute. Special Conditions: Must be able to work weekends, evenings, and special events.
