Salary: $69,990.61 - $97,986.86 AnnuallyLocation : New Albany, OHJob Type: Full-timeJob Number: 2024-27Department: AdministrationOpening Date: 07/19/2024Closing Date: ContinuousDescription This unclassified position works with departments to adopt new software systems, improve processes or workflows, and identify where current software is being underutilized or is underperforming. The position will be responsible for achieving technology-based initiatives by creating and managing cross-functional inter-departmental teams to assist in defining project scope and objectives, managing quality control, and problem resolution to achieve successful implementation. Responsibilities also include assisting departments with the installation and customization of new SaaS and providing ongoing communication, training, and support through the integration of the software or system. The Project Implementation Specialist will ensure the IT group is informed and prepared for the needs of each department when undertaking a new IT-related project. Due to the nature of the job duties, this position qualifies as FLSA-exempt under the administrative exemption. Examples of Duties The following duties are normal for this position. Other duties may be required or assigned.Provides proactive leadership, assistance, and guidance to identify opportunities for efficiency or process improvement through use of technology to meet department objectives; serves as a liaison between IT and the department concerning requests, standards, expectations, and other project project scopes, establishes project plans, coordinates project schedules, manages project budgets, manages project meetings, and controls project risks; researches and evaluates technology vendors for equipment and service needs; recommends and assists in deciding on technology purchases; acts as the liaison between department users and vendors regarding issues or defective products.Synthesizes vendor project plans into internal work breakdowns for the assignment and management of tasks.Collaborates with intra- and inter-departmental teams on solution validity, options, and best approaches for IT-related solutions such as SaaS.Monitors progress towards completion and provides updated reports reflecting the status to teams and department directors.Manages vendor performance for the life of the project; provides approval for payment of services related to project.Contributes to budgeting process by identifying upcoming purchases and obtaining quotes from vendors, defining and developing new initiatives, and making enhancements to existing services.Facilitates meetings, may negotiate with vendors for agreements, and interacts with all levels of the , promotes, and trains IT best practices and the use of available tools.Represents the City with a variety of hardware and software companies; manages relationships with vendors, suppliers, and other service providers that support the IT group. May assist the IT manager or support specialist in troubleshooting and service-related duties.Regular and predictable attendance is required; must be able to work outside of normal business hours if operations require it.Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or other relevant field and considerable (3+ years) project lead, project coordination, or project management experience in a modern technical environment, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Scrum Master or PMP Project Management certification preferred.Candidates must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and tools with proven success in assisting diverse groups in taking a project from inception to implementation. A drug screen and background check will be required after a conditional offer.
