Responsible for facilitating the acquisition of requested patient care soft goods, instrumentation, and special needs orders for the timely completion of OR/HVI procedures. Focus is on supporting College Coordinators and procedural functions by serving as a liaison with Supply Chain in SPD as needed. Prioritizes patient care requests ensuring that the most emergent or urgent case needs are obtained first and dispatched to the receiving procedural area(s). Shares inventory knowledge to direct healthcare providers to the most immediate inventory location to promote timeliness of supply obtainment. Utilizes inventory management systems to check product locations and track instrumentation. Partners with Value Analysis, procure-to-pay, supply chain, and vendors to handle patient-specific non-stock inventory items. Performs audits as requested to trend volume and type of provider requests. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. High school diploma or equivalent 2. Two (2) years of experience in hospital, clinical, or patient support 3. Must successfully complete Supply Chain/SPD training program within 90 days of hire EXPERIENCE: 1. One (1) year experience with computerized medical supply, instrumentation inventory system, or ordering systems. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Surgical Technician Certification EXPERIENCE: 1. Two years of experience in a Perioperative Services' or Supply Chain clinical practice area 2. Experience in supply chain inventory 3. Experience working with application of EPIC OPTIME software 4. Experience working with of Lawson Inventory software 5. Demonstrates knowledge of surgical soft goods, equipment, instruments, and special needs orders.Shares inventory knowledge to direct healthcare providers to the most immediate inventory location to promote timeliness of supply obtainment. Responsible for facilitating the acquisition of requested patient care supplies and instrumentation needed for the timely completion of OR/HVI procedures. 3. Prioritizes patient care requests ensuring that the most emergent or urgent case needs are obtained first and dispatched to the receiving procedural area(s). Works with limited supervision. 4. Utilizes inventory management systems to check product locations and track instrumentation. Communicates delivery needs with dispatchers. 5. Partners with Supply Chain Inventory Analysts and vendors to communicate the locations/needs of patient-specific non-stock inventory items. Assists with ordering, receipt, and reconciliation of special orders. 6. Records clinical supply requests with a particular focus on specialty college or procedural area needs. 7. Performs audits as requested to trend volume and type of provider requests. 8. Works closely with Perioperative leadership and staff to maintain inventory in designated storage areas. 9. Communicates staging locations and dispatches "Special Order Items" to end clinical users. Assists leadership team with contract compliance. 10. Maintains organization and cleanliness of work environments. 11. Provides input into departmental work processes to streamline supply and instrumentation deliveries to procedural areas. 12. Interacts with vendors to communicate provider requests for supplies or instrumentation. Identifies opportunities for supply savings. Requires ability to accurately transcribe verbal communications in timely fashion so that patient care requests can be filled. Requires the wearing of surgical attire and PPE appropriate for work areas. 2. Work may be stressful at times related to volume of requests/communications and need for extremely timely actions to prevent procedural delays.Customer communications may include supply descriptions and not formal inventory names. 3. Work area supports the activities of multiple healthcare providers. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Proven skills with supply chain or instrumentation inventories. 2. Familiar with using computerized applications including Microsoft Officer and varied supply chain/tracking systems. 3. Demonstrates ability to prioritize delivery of patient care procedural items. 4. Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment. Maintains a high degree of customer service commitment with physicians, nurses, technicians, and other customers. 5. Proficiency reading, writing, and speaking English language.
