JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Student Engagement Network (SEN) is seeking interns for the academic year (including Fall and/or Spring 2024, or both ). The intern position will support the advancement of student engagement at Penn State. Duties to include: Effectively communicate the importance and impact of student engagement to current and future students, visiting parents, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni, and community members by participating in resource fairs, welcome week events, New Student Orientation (NSO), Admissions, and Parents and Family events, and more. Presenting to first-year students, faculty, staff, and administrators on how to get engaged through the sharing of resources and personal testimonials. Creating content for social media, including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and more. Champion use of the Engagement App. Interns (remote or in-person) will assist with the grant program, website content, social media strategy, and office-sponsored events, including the Student Engagement Expo and the Student Engagement Summit. Interns may also be asked to conduct research, build surveys, and create reports for office meetings and marketing and communications efforts. SEN Interns also contribute to the student engagement application project, the Engagement Space project, and may sit on various advisory groups. Candidates should be comfortable speaking publicly, be independent workers and possess a strong work ethic, be courteous and respectful of others, and be innovative thinkers. Interns will be paid $12.00 per hour for a maximum of 20 hours per week. Schedules may be flexible. Interns can work remotely from any campus and/or in-person at University Park. University Park interns will cover hours in the Engagement Space located in the HUB-Robeson Center where they will serve as liaisons, mentors, and ambassadors of student engagement. Summer interns will be asked to work in-person at UP. Schedules will be flexible. Interns starting in the Fall must be available arrival weekend for an orientation session.
