We are looking for a NY state Professional Engineer P.E. with NYCDOB and Micropiles work experience: Job Purpose: Ensures conformance to codes by preparing and conducting building inspections; identifying violations; recommending compliance procedures; documenting observations. Ensures quality by supervising/ conducting materials and structural component tests and evaluations for material characterization and failure analysis; maintaining standards; analyzing findings; preparing reports. Completes engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements. Duties: Prepares inspection schedule by studying permits, plans, and specifications; estimating travel and inspection times; coordinating site visits; developing schedules. Determines compliance to codes by inspecting work in progress and accomplished, including Geotechnical, Civil, and Structural. Attains compliance to codes by issuing notices for corrections; interpreting codes; recommending compliance procedures. Records compliance by documenting progress and violations. Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and legal regulations. Updates job knowledge by tracking and understanding new standards; participating in educational opportunities, trade shows and conferences; reading technical/professional publications. Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments by complying with federal and state regulations. Implements corrective action when non-conforming work or departures from policies and procedures in the quality. Inspection reports and inspection certificates shall be signed or otherwise approved. Determines materials durability by conducting failure tests; analyzing findings. Improves materials, products, and processes by recommending changes based on analytical findings; investigating and resolving concerns; developing new tests. Improves quality results by following ISO 17020 and 17025 standards; studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes. Helps customers by answering technical questions; responding to requests. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements; reviewing bids from contractors. Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates. Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements. Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems. Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions. Controls project costs by approving expenditures; administering contractor contracts. Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with management. Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions. Maintains project data base by writing computer programs; entering and backing up data. Shall ensure confidentiality of information obtained in the course of its inspection activities. Proprietary rights of company and clients shall be protected. Ensure that Purchase orders are reviewed and approved for technical content prior to release. Ensures that Sampling plan and procedures are documented/ reviewed to avoid deterioration or damage to inspection items while under its responsibility. Skills/Qualifications: Required: Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil, Structural or Geotechnical Engineering Required: Professional Engineering License with registration in New York. Required: Knowledge of NYC Building Codes COMPENSATION: Compensation is commensurate with experience in a similar role and includes a comprehensive benefits package. This role is an exempt, full time salaried position.
