Purchasing Manager - ConstructionHighland Consulting Group is a nationwide recruiting firm that focuses on placing top construction talent within the commercial, institutional and industrial sectors.We are recruiting an experienced Purchasing Manager with construction purchasing experience. Our client is a larger regional contractor in the Pittsburgh area. This position is extremely important to the success of the company and reports directly to the President. This department oversees the purchasing of Large annual bulk purchases, day to day consumables, specialty items, office equipment, machinery, vehicles, and other misc. items. It also manages the rebate programs with all of the vendors. We are recruiting for individuals that are highly organized, motivated and great negotiators. No travel is anticipated.ResponsibilitiesSource and qualify vendors as necessary in order to meet project demandsEnsure that materials are delivered as scheduledCollaborate with suppliers, vendors and Project Managers to establish and improve relationships, quality and overall partnershipsReduce andor maintain material costs through cost saving techniques along with strategic negotiation with vendorsNegotiate all vendor pricing of all front end commoditiesAnalyze multiple vendor bids and create all project budgetsNegotiate and monitor master contract agreements and vendor work scopesResponsible for creation and distribution of all purchase orders and variance purchase ordersContinuously monitor and update vendor pricing and rebatesRequirements5 years experience working as a Purchasing Manager in the construction industry - preferredExperience with direct purchasingExperience with direct import preferredExcellent communication skillsExperience negotiated large contracts is preferredExperience managing purchasing department is preferredStrong computer skillsMust be extremely organizedBachelor's degree preferredBenefitsThis company cares about and is committed to the well being of its employees and their families.
