Title: Project Manager - Permitting Company: Confidential - Successful community solar developer in the USLocation: NYC PreferredCompensation: $60,000 - $110,000 + Annual Bonus + Long-term incentive bonusCompany: Highly successful community solar developer with global impact. Development experts and activists working to combat climate change through renewable energy generation with a unique emphasis and passion for preserving the environment they work on. Role and responsibilities:Manage the entire NEPA and SEQRA process for renewable energy production and storage projects, including feasibility studies and environmental surveying.Oversee local zoning and land use permitting procedures, coordinating with Town Boards, Planning Boards, and Zoning Boards to secure necessary approvals.Conduct critical issues analysis and manage environmental studies required at local, state, and federal levels.Perform site assessments to evaluate field conditions and participate in occasional evening meetings with travel.Collaborate with various stakeholders, including landowners, utilities, contractors, consultants, and government officials, to ensure projects align with both economic and ecological sustainability goals.Utilize IT tools, including GIS, for site development and public presentations to support the environmental services provided.Enhance existing environmental capabilities and expand project site presence through independent effort and teamwork within a remote or hybrid work environment.Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:Bachelors or higher degree with a strong academic record in environmental sciences, natural sciences, engineering, planning, or a related discipline from an accredited program.Minimum of two years of applicable experience in project management, environmental permitting, or real estate development, ideally related to renewable or conventional energy development.Demonstrated technical competence and project experience in natural resource fields applicable to energy generation or transmission siting and environmental permitting.Proven ability to effectively engage with industry, government, and public stakeholders on project-related matters.Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for developing and maintaining relationships.
