We are a vibrant and growing refractive ophthalmology practice seeking the right individual to fill this important role within our practice. The Patient Advocate (Surgical Coordinator) is responsible for assisting the patient with all aspects of the surgery process in order to make the surgical experience as smooth as possible for the patient, and acts as an effective liaison between the patient, surgeon, referring doctor, and the surgical facility. Our main location is in Quincy with satellite offices in Norwell, Norwood and Weymouth. 10-20 minutes interoffice travel is required; occasional Saturday AM rotation. Essential Skills and Abilities: - Excellent customer service and communication skills - Sales or marketing experience preferred - Highly organized multitasker in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment - Detail Oriented - Empathetic personality - Time management skills - Composure under pressure - Quick learner - Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines - Strong computer skills Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Build relationships with, and educate patients, on the various ocular surgery procedures - Provide support to multiple surgeons - Explain the lens and technology options to cataract patients - Discuss out of pocket and elective procedures, such as LASIK - Coordinate paperwork and details with ambulatory surgery center - Obtain insurance referrals and prior authorizations for surgical procedures - Must be willing to work within the surgery scheduling/coordinator team Full time benefits include Competitive salary based on the experience and qualification, Paid Vacation & Sick Time Off, Paid Holidays, Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, 401K, Profit Sharing, Employees & Family discount on Lasik, other procedures & glasses.
