Job Description: Client is seeking a talented Systems Engineer to support and execute varied systems engineering activities. You will support existing certified propeller systems on over 2000 aircraft in both the commercial and military domain, as well actively working several major upgrade activities while preparing for the next generation propeller system development opportunity. You will communicate and coordinate within the Client with systems, drafting, design, aerodynamic analysis, engineering labs, and other engineering disciplines in addition to supporting program (value stream) organizations. Your engineering activities are often worked as a joint effort with associates at the Client facility in Figeac France. Responsibilities: Conduct systems engineering activities for support of existing product as well as development of product modifications for military and commercial propeller platforms. Typical activities include the following: Propeller control system development (including control law definition) Customer fleet support including investigations and technical requests for troubleshooting Support aircraft modification sites and post installation system checkout Support modification and upgrades to legacy propeller test rigs Propeller and control systems dynamic modelling Support system safety and Failure Modes Effects and Criticality development for propeller hardware and software Generate reports for engineering work performed based on analysis and test activities Support necessary laboratory and production testing (production acceptance, whirl rig, software, vibration/shock, hydraulic system tests, etc.) Coordinate and work regularly with engineering, in both Windsor Locks, CT and Figeac, France. Occasional domestic and international travel required to support suppliers, customers, and aircraft operators. Perform other duties as required Requirement: U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required Qualifications/Experience Preferred: Aerospace experience Systems engineering experience Experience with aerospace systems software including DO-178 (Software Considerations in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification) Experience with MATLAB/SIMULINK Experience with hydraulic/mechanical control systems Experience with Python or other high-level object-oriented programming language Experience with diverse international teams Education: Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and typically a minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
