UPMC offers a $6,000 sign on bonus with a 2-year commitment for new hires. Performs imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. This position will service the roles of Nuclear Medicine and CT Technologist specialties. Responsibilities: Performs all responsibilities of Level I Nuclear Medicine tech and CT Technologist, including maintains proper records of radiopharmaceuticals and calculates, measures and records patient dose. Performs all quality control checks on imaging and non-imaging equipment. Properly identifies all patients and provides instructions for exams. Competently performs all nuclear medicine exams and codes and tracks exams in RIS. Interacts with patients and co-workers by displaying the values of caring, listening, dignity and respect. Monitors quality control activities and demonstrates advanced level of knowledge in nuclear medicine by providing patient care as defined by the most up to day protocols and procedures. Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team. Assist with educating staff and student technologists to provide technical guidance and education. Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups. Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development. Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives. Completion of formal training in an accredited Nuclear Med Tech program required. When rotating between two specialties, must hold registry in each specialty. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: ARRT or NMTC RDMS Registered with a secondary RDMS registry required. Must maintain 2 imaging registries/certifications and maintain competency in all as required by hiring Business Unit. Must be willing and demonstrate flexibility to be assigned to any of the maintained registries by leadership. Must provide flexibility to work least one off-shift (evening, nights or weekend), every 90 days as requested by imaging leadership. CPR or BLS preferred. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
