The Project Engineer is responsible for project management of capital investments and process improvements of current processes. They will lead new projects whether instituted with existing or new equipment. The team member will be responsible for managing projects, controlling costs, optimizing production processes, designing and implementing new manufacturing methods, ensuring product quality, and integrating technology to enhance efficiency. They play a key role in improving manufacturing operations, complying with environmental and safety standards, and promoting continuous improvement. This individual will work collaboratively with various teams and utilize their technical expertise to make manufacturing operations more efficient, cost-effective, and competitive, ultimately contributing to the company's success in the market.Duties and ResponsibilitiesIndependently handles projects of a high profile, complex nature that may involve groups inside and outside of the organization.Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to deliver projects on schedule.Design and develop mechanical and electrical systems, components, and equipment using CAD software and engineering principles.Perform calculations, simulations, and analysis to ensure designs meet requirements and specifications.Available on-call for phone or in-person support at facility as neededCreate, review, approve and maintain detailed engineering plans, designs, drawings, cost estimates, financial justification and schedules required for engineering and maintenance projects.Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on a day-to-day basisConducts research of new equipment and manufacturing processes to maintain and improve the company's competitive position.Optimization of existing equipment to provide desired balance of cost, throughput, and variability.Lead product and process improvements to improve cost position and increase product yield Assists in managing major capital budget itiate and coordinate projects (both capital and CI) and schedules with production and maintenance, including all necessary personnel training. Interface directly with operators in a manufacturing environment to lead projects. Manage upward in the organization with the same integrity and enthusiasm as that shown on the shop floor. Identifies and implements project work to improve the Company products and manufacturing processesPosition RequirementsBachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Process Engineering, Materials Science or equivalent field of study5+ years of experience working in industrial manufacturing environmentComputer skills to include AutoCAD Suite (Inventor, AutoCAD, Fusion) and Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)Strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skillsBasic technical knowledge of metals andor powder processing preferred but not required
