This is position welcomes applicants with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering. This position is mobile in nature requiring 2 days/week on-site at the Burr Ridge, IL facility. No relocation will be provided for this position. Fauske & Associates, LLC (FAI) is a Westinghouse Electric Company affiliated company located in Burr Ridge, Illinois, approximately 20 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. The principals and staff are recognized in the nuclear and chemical industries for phenomenological modeling and development of tools related to the prevention and accommodation of chemical and nuclear plant accidents. Your Day-to-Day: As an Engineer I for nuclear safety, you will perform and support state-of-the-art calculations and validation experiments as required under the mentorship of your manager or more senior engineers with a focus on maintaining and improving safety within the nuclear industry. Other duties and responsibilities listed below and may be assigned on an as-needed basis by your manager. Perform engineering calculations related to nuclear safety, fluid flow, probability risk assessment, severe accident analysis, equipment qualification, heat and mass transfer, and other duties as assigned by manager Prepare appropriate documentation supporting evaluations and analyses* Verify routine design evaluations and analyses performed by others, as qualified. Interface on a limited basis with customers, vendors, and other internal functional groups on engineering level to obtain information necessary to perform work assignments Develop skills necessary to assume more independent assignments and support the business strategic initiatives Identify and recommend improvements in processes on continuing basis and assist in implementation as well as identify and assist in the development of new business opportunities. Plan and schedule own work to meet assignment requirements within schedule and budgetary requirements Who You Are: As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical) 0 - 3 years of experiece. Coding in one or more of the following: MathCAD C++ Fortran Visual Basic Dispersion Modelling Severe accident modeling and analysis Thermal-hydraulics modeling and analysis (i.e., RELAP, MAAP, MELCOR) Facility hazard modeling and analysis, equipment qualification, and/or laboratory experience with custom experiments Why Westinghouse?
