Electronics Engineering Technology JOB CLASSIFICATION Pay grade level: N/A Compensation: $970.32 per credit hours Employee category: Adjunct Position type: Adjunct Faculty Department: Electronics Engineering Technology Reports to: Dean of Mathematics, Science, and Business Technology (MSBT) FLSA status: Exempt Job Code: AA005Adjunct Positions Supervised: None Location: Primarily Main Campus, but any other college location as assigned by the appropriate administrator SUMMARY Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC) is currently searching for an Adjunct faculty member to provide high quality, learner-centered instruction for students enrolled in Electronics coursework at any KCKCC location while supporting the institution's mission, vision, and strategic plan. This is a POOL position. Application materials for this adjunct position accepted on an on-going basis due to increasing demand for courses in this subject area. POSITION DESCRIPTION Conduct all class and lab sessions according to schedule. Utilize the Learning Management System (Blackboard) to maintain students grades and assessment results. Provide instruction, activities, assignments, and assessments to adequately cover all Student Learning Objectives for the specific course(s) taught. Use teaching methods that emphasize application, cooperation and collaboration and engage students actively in their studies, encouraging them to become independent learners with higher-order thinking skills. Organize and explain content using methods which are appropriate to students with differing abilities, levels of preparation, and cultural experience. Assign and provide feedback for in- and out-of-class work; monitor student progress. Perform adequate assessment and analysis of assessment according to college requirements. Reflect on and evaluate the effectiveness of one's own pedagogy. Perform other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to arrive on time and be ready to teach course(s) during scheduled times. Ability to prepare curricular materials to convey learning objectives to students. Ability to effectively utilize Blackboard for posting assignments, assessing students, performances, and grading. Ability to think critically and solve problems independently. Ability to be organized and work on multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to work with a diverse student, staff, and faculty population. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Associates degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or a related discipline. Two (2) years of professional electronics experience. Teaching experience with a diverse population. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or a related field. Teaching experience in an open enrollment, urban community college. Experience with a Learning Management System such as Blackboard. Experience in learner-centered pedagogy.
