Job Description Position Overview HerMD is seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our team for in-office gynecology procedures at our clinic in Carmel, IN! As an anesthesiologist, you play a critical role in ensuring patient comfort, safety, and optimal surgical outcomes during various gynecological procedures. Your expertise will be particularly focused on procedures such as colposcopies, vulvar biopsies, endometrial biopsies, Endosee hysteroscopies, LEEPs, Vaginal Botox, ablations, Myosures, Novasures, Dilation and Curettage (D&C), and Sonata procedures. Requirements Responsibilities Preoperative Assessment Conduct thorough preoperative evaluations of patients scheduled for in-office gynecological procedures to determine their medical suitability for anesthesia, identify potential risks, and develop appropriate anesthesia plans. Anesthesia Administration Administer anesthesia, including sedation and pain management techniques, tailored to each patient's specific needs and procedure requirements. Patient Monitoring Continuously monitor patients throughout the entire duration of procedures, ensuring vital signs, oxygenation levels, and other relevant parameters remain within safe limits. Respond promptly to any changes or complications that may arise during the procedure. Medication Management Administer medications, such as analgesics, anesthetics, and adjuncts, as required during and after procedures, maintaining accurate records of drug administration and dosages. Airway Management Skillfully manage patients' airway and ventilation, while minimizing potential risks and complications. Emergency Preparedness Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies promptly and effectively, including cardiac arrest, anaphylaxis, respiratory distress, or any other life-threatening situations that may occur during procedures. Collaboration and Communication Collaborate closely with the gynecologists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals involved in patient care, providing effective communication and ensuring a coordinated approach to patient management. Documentation Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient assessments, anesthesia plans, intraoperative management, and post-procedure recovery, adhering to relevant legal and ethical guidelines. Quality Assurance Stay updated on the latest advancements in anesthesia techniques, gynecological procedures, and patient safety standards. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and outcomes. Qualifications Medical Degree Master's degree in Nurse Anesthesia from an accredited nurse anesthesia program. Board Certification Hold current certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) and maintain a valid Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the state of practice. Relevant Experience Demonstrate experience in providing anesthesia for gynecological procedures, particularly in an office-based setting. Familiarity with the specific procedures mentioned, including Colposcopies, vulvar biopsies, endometrial biopsies, Endosee hysteroscopies, LEEPs, vaginal Botox, ablations, Myosures, Novasures, D&Cs, and Sonata procedures, is highly desirable. Knowledge and Skills Possess in-depth knowledge of anesthesia techniques, pharmacology, patient monitoring, airway management, and emergency response. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills are essential. Patient Care Focus Exhibit a patient-centric approach, prioritizing patient comfort, safety, and satisfaction throughout the perioperative process. Attention to Detail Display meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to protocols and standards.
